You know this pattern

First loss of the session

revenge trade → account blown before lunch

Winning streak

overconfidence → size up → catastrophic giveback

2 days from payout

urgency → forced trades → blew all four accounts in one afternoon

Just got funded

real money stakes → froze → overtrade to compensate → Day 1 blown

Boredom in a slow session

switched instruments → wiped weeks of gains in a single trade

Placed a trade, stepped away

news event hit → no stop loss → position destroyed

5 years of experience

one bad afternoon → same pattern as day one

"The person you are on tilt is not the same person who built your strategy. cTrader has no idea which one is at the keyboard."

Everything You've Already Tried — And Why It Didn't Work When It Mattered

01

The Sticky Note

You read the rules every morning. On the day it matters — after the second loss — you don't see it anymore. You're already clicking.

02

The Trading Journal

TradeZella. TraderSync. Spreadsheets. Journaling tells you what went wrong after the damage is done. It is a post-mortem tool being used to prevent a death.

03

The Mental Commitment

"This time I'll follow the rules." The failure mode is specifically that rational commitment collapses under emotional activation. This is hope dressed as a plan.

04

The Accountability Partner

They are not present at 9:47 AM when the tilt trade happens. The accountability is asynchronous. The impulse is instantaneous.

05

The Cbots / Algorithm

Addresses strategy execution — not the moment a trader disables it, overrides it, or intervenes manually because the loss felt personal.

"There is no existing tool inside cTrader that intervenes between the emotional impulse and the execution button. That gap is where accounts go to die."

Three Steps. Configured Once. Enforced Every Session.

1

One-time setup

Set your rules while you're calm

Set your session constraints inside the panel: max trades, max loss, permitted instruments, daily profit lock, news buffer, and any other rule you must follow. Your firm's rules including drawdown limits load automatically. Once the session starts, the ruleset is locked.

2

During the session

Every order is checked before it reaches your broker

You place orders through the SessionLock panel inside cTrader. Any order that violates your plan or your firm's rules is blocked at the panel layer — not after the fact, not at the broker. A silent background guard closes anything placed outside the panel. No gap.

3

After every session

A report, not a shame spiral

Compliance with your rules and your firm's requirements. Every intervention, every override attempt, every behavioral deviation. Data instead of a story about yourself.

You still make every decision. You just can't make them faster than your rules allow.

What Changes When Your Rules Have Enforcement

The account survives the session.

Hard blocks stop the revenge trade, the tilt oversize, the forgotten open position — the events that end accounts in a single afternoon.

You stop breaching firm rules you didn't mean to break.

Drawdown limits, consistency rules, position restrictions enforced in real time. A compliance failure never comes as a surprise.

The evaluation-to-funded transition becomes survivable.

The same enforcement applies at every stage. The psychological pressure changes; your rules do not.

Your strategy gets a real test.

For the first time, you'll know whether your strategy underperforms — or whether it was your execution failing it.

You stop losing accounts you already earned.

No more Day 1 funded account blowups after weeks of disciplined challenge performance.

You get data instead of shame.

The behavioral report shows exactly when deviation occurs and what triggers it — not as self-blame, but as the pattern that makes you a better trader.

System Failure Datapoints

You Are Not Alone. This Is the Most Common Way Traders Fail — and the Least Talked About.

Posts from trading forums, not SessionLock customers. Same failure each time: the strategy held until the stakes changed, and nothing stood between the impulse and the order.

The Minutes Phenomenon
Accounts that took weeks of disciplined evaluation to earn, destroyed in a fraction of that time. Not because the strategy failed. Because nothing enforced it at the moment of the click.
The actual failure
In the trader accounts behind this product, revenge trading, tilt, and rule-breaking under pressure were not one cause among many. They were the cause the others passed through. The strategy was intact. The execution was not.
70% Mental
A line traders repeat on their own: "I think 70% of this game is mental. Strategy matters, sure, but discipline and emotional control decide who survives." Journals describe that 70%. They do not intercept it.

Shared experiences across trading forums

"i've passed 4 evals in the past week within 2 days each, and blew all of them within 15 mins of being funded by being greedy."

"i don't remember the bad trades i take on tilt. i'm now sitting in my room, have no idea why i clicked buy / sell after being up 200 today."

r/Daytrading

"i had 4 prop firm accounts where i could've gotten a 15k payout on topstep — all i had to do was wait for the trading day to be over — but i blew all the accounts in one day chasing more and not handling one loss."

r/PropFirms

"my losses were not coming from my edge failing. most of them came from me stepping outside of it."

Common questions

Do I have to switch platforms or change my setup?

No. SessionLock installs as a plugin panel inside your existing cTrader. Your charts, indicators, and broker connection stay exactly where they are. Setup takes under three minutes.

Is this for beginners or experienced traders?

Both. Revenge trading and rule-breaking under pressure affect traders at every experience level, not just beginners. If you have a strategy that works in lower-stakes conditions but falls apart under pressure, this is built for you.

Does this enforce my prop firm's rules automatically?

Yes. Both layers apply at the same time: your personal rules and your firm's evaluation requirements. It works with FTMO, FundedNext, The5ers, Alpha Capital Group, and other cTrader-based prop firms (10+ supported).

Which brokers does SessionLock support?

Any account you already trade through cTrader. SessionLock is not a broker. It sits in the cTrader panel and checks orders before they are sent, whether the account is a prop evaluation, a funded account, or your own cash account.

I trade my own cash, not a prop firm account. Is this still for me?

Yes. Revenge trading, oversizing after losses, and tilt-driven rule-breaking happen on personal accounts too. The enforcement works the same way regardless of where your capital sits. You configure your personal rules; SessionLock enforces them.

What happens if cTrader is closed?

SessionLock runs inside cTrader. If the platform is closed, no order can be sent, so there is nothing to block. While cTrader is open, the panel checks each order before it is sent, and a background guard closes orders placed outside the panel.

Does SessionLock place trades for me?

No. It is not a cBot and it does not run your strategy. You still choose every entry. SessionLock only stops an order that breaks a rule you locked before the session, or a firm limit already in force.

What can it actually block?

The locked ruleset can include a max trade count, a max loss, permitted instruments, a daily profit lock, news buffer, and many more. Prop firm rules including drawdown limits load with that ruleset. An order that breaks one of those is blocked before it reaches the broker. After the session starts, the ruleset stays locked.

I already use a journal. How is this different?

Journals describe what happened after the session ends. SessionLock intervenes at the exact moment a rule-breaking order is attempted. A post-mortem tool and an intervention tool are not the same thing.

The next account doesn't have to end the same way.

Run your next session with your rules enforced by software, not by the version of you that exists on tilt.
